Lancaster Student wins MBA Student of the Year Award

Husameldin Elnasri from Lancaster University Management School has won the MBA Student of the Year award, announced by The Association of MBAs (AMBA) at their Gala Dinner in London.

Husam chose to study the Lancaster Full-time MBA to further his management career having moved from the not-for-profit to the corporate sector.

He said winning the award meant a lot to him.

“I consider it as a reward and recognition for all the hard work I have done in my life. It is also a reward for my family, friends and Lancaster University Management School for putting their faith and support in me to be able to finish my MBA.”

Cyprus - New Students Ready to go!

Prospective students from Cyprus enjoyed a Briefing event held recently in Nicosia.

The event, hosted by Andros Papadopoulos and kindly sponsored by Deloitte allowed the new students to get to know one another and find out more about the University and studying at Lancaster.

 

Lancaster Grads on Top of the World Down Under!

Lancaster graduates met Sir Chris Bonington at an event at the Opera Bar, Sydney on 12th September. Graduates spanned several decades from 1964 to 1999.

Our thanks go to Wendy and Steve Atkins who helped organise the event.

Wendy said "So nice to meet other people from Lancaster and reminisce about our times there.  We had a pretty good spread of people from across the years and Colleges.  I think we are just about all ready to book a flight back!!!"

 

Hong Kong Dinner

A dinner hosted by our Chancellor Sir Chris Bonington, was attended by 30 alumni. The dinner, held at the Heichinrou Restaurant on 12th September was kindly organised by Cynthia Leung (Business Analysis, 1998, Graduate College). Guests attending the event enjoyed the opportunity of seeing old friends and meeting Sir Chris, who kindly signed books for them.

The dinner forms part of a series of events being held during September and October in the far East and Australia.

The Lancaster University Hong Kong Association is a local group offering a range of activities for graduates living in this area, and the dinner provided the opportunity for guests to find out about the Association. Lancaster MBA alumni in London

The Lancaster MBA team hosted one of its regular alumni networking events at the Work Foundation in London in March 2012. The focus of the event was career development, with speakers from several organisations including IBM.

Athens Alumni Event
25/04/2012

The Management School held an event for alumni and applicants in Athens on 5th April, giving prospective students the opportunity to meet graduates of Lancaster, with particular emphasis on Management School postgraduate programmes.

It also provided an opportunity for alumni to catch up over a few drinks and to network with friends. Over 40 alumni and applicants attended.

Lancaster alumni in India
21/02/2012

On 9th February around 100 Lancaster alumni attended a reception held at the Taj Mahal hotel in New Delhi.

The evening was hosted by Sir Christian Bonington, Chancellor, and guests included staff and graduates from both Lancaster University and G D Goenka World Institute.

Lancaster University has been working to set up an international network of collaborative teaching and research partnerships and GD Goenka WI is a significant collaboration that was established recently in Gurgaon, India.The first cohort of students graduated the day before the alumni reception.  The recent graduates from both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes enjoyed meeting fellow alumni and networking.
